I have my Bachelor's degree in Music from Rhode Island College, where I studied oboe and bassoon. I can make and adjust reeds, to best help my students produce a sound that they are happy with. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree at Longy School of Music, in Boston.
Lessons can be as relaxed or fast-paced as they need to be, I take a very individualized approach to meet the needs of each student's abilities. I love to give my students choices in their musical path- making music should be fun and enjoyable! Despite that, we still get to business when we have to.
Let's make some music together!

Hi there, I'm so glad you're here!
I am a supportive and encouraging teacher willing to teach all ages and abilities. It is my firm belief that music is for everyone!
I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching at Rhode Island College. I studied Oboe Performance at Longy School of Music for a year before decidingto pursue education further (I love teaching too much!.) I completed my undergraduate work at Rhode Island College, where I studied oboe and bassoon privately. I am currently on the private lesson roster for two public schools in the area, and teach both double-reeded instruments. I have successfully helped young students prepare for and audition into district and all state level ensembles.
I have reed-making experience and can assist students with finicky reeds, to help ease the most frustrating part about playing oboe & bassoon.
I'm looking forward to working with you!
My daughter had a great first lesson with Alyssa. She is looking forward to continuing in the weeks to come.
This was my boys first lesson and they loved it. They were so excited after class. Telling me that it felt way to short and that they are eager to have more lessons with Alyssa.
I’m also very pleased as she is a warm and welcoming person and I had an easy time communicating with her about what exactly I am looking for, our schedule, and also difficulties with entering our first lesson.
The boys will definitely, and with joy, continue their music journey with Alyssa.
Really enjoyed my first class.
Our daughter had taken in person lessons for years. When her instructor retired we really didn't know what to do. Bassoon instructors aren't very common where we live. She was very nervous about taking on line lessons but Alyssa put her at ease. It seems like she could really relate to Alyssa.
Alyssa really helped her get through many of the issues she was having with a new instrument and new high school band.
We will go back to her again for sure!
Awesome experience with the flute. She listens and understands before giving advice on what should be worked on. She works very with me teenage daughter. Will definitely recommend others. Thanks
My son really connects with her and they get a lot accomplished in the time they have.
My daughter had a great time with Alyssa and learned a lot as well!
Alyssa is an excellent teacher who always goes the extra mile to make sure my daughter gets the most from her lesson. Her youthful energy makes her very relatable and her knowledge of the bassoon is something we struggled to find in our area. I feel like we’ve found the perfect teacher!
We all love taking online lessons! It saves us an hour and a half in the car, and it’s simply more comfortable to be in our own home. I’ve ben recommending Take Lessons to all my friends.
She is very nice and learning lots of fun and hard stuff!
Alyssa was great! She was very knowledgeable and gave great advice. The first lesson went better than we could have hoped for, and we are super excited for the next lessons!
It's so good! She helps me so much and she is so nice to me and makes a big improvement in my music! -Madalina
I had fun and she explained very clear! Thank you for helping me play the oboe!
