Hello! My name is Alyssa and I am from the United States. I am an ESL teacher and an experienced academic writing tutor. I speak English and Spanish, and some of my hobbies include travelling, reading, drawing, and learning languages. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in English from Georgia Southern University. My program focused in professional English writing & composition and literature analysis. I also studied political science and Spanish. Right after university I took a summer internship with my city's branch of the World Trade Center- and amazing experience which drove my desire to get out into the world and learn more about it. I then became professionally certified to teach English and moved to Costa Rica, where I began working for multiple language companies and institutes. I now work completely online giving English classes, academic tutoring, and freelance writing. My passion for tutoring and teaching definitely started while working my university's Writing Center. Here I helped other students improve their writing by identifying opportunities for improvement in compositions and discussing in a clear and effective manner to help the student in correcting their own issues. I love helping my students develop and grow as writers, so I continue this today online!
