Hello! I'm a multi-instrumentalist composer and performer. I see music as a giant SANDBOX that we get to play in together! Sure, I can show you the tools to keep your sandcastle in good sturdy shape - but your vision gets to drive what we make together. :) I'm a classically trained violinist with a focus on folk and contemporary music. I can work with you in the style of your choice with plenty of theory and technique to support the music.

I have been with Alyssa for almost a year now. I have progressed so far. The classes are always fun and I feel like I gain something every time we meet. Though I am a ways from being proficient, I am quite pleased with the speed in which I am progressing. I am glad to have Aylssa as my instructor.

My first lesson was very good. She took the time to explain and we progressed at a good pace. She explained things and showed me proper techniques to hold the violin and the bow. Overall the lesson was fun and exciting.

I started working with Alyssa in person when she was teaching violin in Salt Lake City. Once she moved to Los Angeles I agreed to try the online lessons. I have found this method of learning to be very valuable. Alyssa has a unique way of teaching. While the traditional principles of violin playing are taught Alyssa includes mindfulness and breath in her methods. She also introduces improvisation and takes music beyond its notes on the page.
