Ukulele with Alyssa M.

Ever since Alyssa M. was 8 years old, she has had a passion for music. Currently, Alyssa is minoring in General Music Studies at SDSU. For 2 years she studied under classical guitarist Sean Basset at San Diego State University. She also studied under Dr. Bryan Bozenthel, a classical voice teacher. This allowed Alyssa to deeply expand her knowledge on proper techniques for voice and guitar which also allowed her to incorporate these techniques into everyday playing and singing. Throughout the years, she has been in many bands in the DMV area. She performed at various venues such as the AMP by Strathmore, The Electric Maiden, and Fillmore. Alyssa and her band also got an opportunity to perform in front of thousands of people at the American Heart Associations Annual Heart Walk in DC. Alyssa understands the importance of music and how it has the ability to allow each person to express themselves in many different ways. Alyssa has been fortunate enough to be able to spread her knowledge of music with students of many different ages and backgrounds over the years. Currently, she is working as a music instructor teaching voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele. She also does Rock Band Camps and Broadway Music camps in the summers. She has been teaching for about over 2 years and has had experience learning and playing music for over 10 years. Alyssa specializes in teaching students who never played and who already play the instrument and wish to get a more in-depth experience with piano, guitar, ukulele and voice literature by learning new repertoire and developing their technique and music theory. Alyssa looks forward to sharing her passion of music with others!
