I am an English professor at Regent University and have been teaching there for over two years. Shortly put, writing is not a hobby for me; it is my lifestyle. My creative writing passion was evident from the time I was in first grade, when I ran up to my teacher, excitedly telling her how much I wanted to be a poet. In my adult life, I have thus far published two works, a novella and book of poetry, and am currently in talks with literary agents about my publishing my novel- a years long project steeped heavily in Norse mythology. Outside of working on my novel, I manage my website where I post my other writing several times a week, such as articles to help people with their writing or my own poems, vignettes, etc. I have professional experience working with a wide variety of people, anywhere from the beginner to professional level, and I want to work with YOU in the style you find most suitable and conducive to learning, so rest assured that your needs and wants will always be heard. Whether you are a student, hobbyist, aspiring or current author, I can help. I will teach you how to incorporate writing into your daily discipline, how to overcome writer's block effectively and reliably, what the "rules" are and how to break them. I will solidify what it actually means to be a "good writer." If you want to learn more about how to polish your manuscript in preparation for publication, I am experienced and will teach you what you need to know. If you want to learn more about the publishing or self-publishing process, I can help you. If you are a Mac user who is interested in learning more about the process of turning your manuscript into an e-book, I can introduce you to a formatting program specifically for Macs and teach you to use it. Examples of some who would benefit from my classes: -Students currently studying creative writing -Hobbyist writers, i.e. those who write for the fun of it (personal projects, fan fiction, etc.) -Aspiring authors, i.e. those who want to write creatively on the professional level -Current authors, i.e. those who have already published a work and want to use these classes as a form of consultation, editing, feedback, etc. on their next or current project If you are interested in working with me on something not specifically listed, please send a message right away, and I'd be happy to speak with you right away. If you need to meet outside my normally scheduled hours, please message me, and I'd be happy to try and arrange something to work with your schedule. I look forward to meeting you and reading your work- together we can begin the journey to transform your writing dreams into writing realities.

Professor Moore is an incredible teacher. I had her in an English class while I was attending college, and she brought such life and inspiration to the classroom. She introduced unique and engaging writing workshops in class, and explained things in depth. As someone who normally doesn’t like sitting in on an English class, Professor Moore helped me really love learning. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure to work with her outside the classroom when it comes to writing. She has helped me work on poems and gave great constructive criticism on stories I have been working on. Professor Moore really works with your learning styles, and is a great person to learn from. I highly recommend her and all she can offer!

Alyssa is a fantastic teacher, she has mentored me for many years now and hopefully will for many years to come. I am lucky enough to have gotten feedback from her on many projects and they always are better for it! She has helped me better my craft and I'm happy to say that with her guidance I have been able to finish many short stories and am a few chapters into my first book. I highly, highly recommend learning from her if you would like to not only better your skills but also come away from your lessons inspired and ready to start writing!
