Dance with Allisen L.

ALLISEN, a New York native, has resided in Florida for 14 years. Dancing since the age of 5, her passion led to a BA in dance focused in psychology from Florida International University, graduating with honors in Spring 2006. As a professional performing artist, her choreography has been shown for the Miami Dance Festival, at the North Miami Arts Collective (NOMAC), the Little Haiti Cultural Center, and Mobil Micro-Theater. With a movement style that ranges from ballet to belly dance, Allisen has a unique perspective on the power of movement as a tool for personal and collective transformation. She has facilitated programs that help bring the arts to under-served communities through ArtSpring, Arts For Learning and the Lotus House. She’s also taught dance for the cities of Hollywood and Wilton Manors community centers, and at the Memorial Hospital Care Center, as well as at dance studios through out Dade and Broward counties.
