I am very disappointed. I thought my first lesson went very well, and I was looking forward to next week's lesson, as I thought the prior week's lesson went very well and I felt I learned a lot. I was contacted by Allie today and told she would be refusing to teach me going forward. Her reason was that I was an older male. I don't even know what to do with that. I would have understood if she had refused to take me as a student beforehand, as I stated my correct age and gender when I signed up. But refusing me as a student based solely on attributes I cannot control AFTER accepting me as a student, taking my money, and teaching a full lesson is ... unprofessional at best. I understand comfort levels, but I mean, come on. She did offer to refer me to male friends of hers that could teach me, but I think it is best I walk away from this entirely. Needless to say, I will be seeking a refund for the remainder of the classes I paid for. I am very disappointed by this whole experience and I feel a bit betrayed by both takelessons.com, and Allie.

Very good at helping improve musically and a great personality!

Hi, this is Allie's dad. I'm responding to the previous review. This person was 21 miles away and at least a 40 minute drive in traffic. Allie's profile stated within 10 miles. It was clearly a miscommunication, and Allie apologized and even offered a free lesson at our house as compensation. Driving an hour and 20 minutes is not feasible. This person never took a lesson from Allie.
