I especially love to help children learn music theory as it’s a good age to start and have fun with in the way that I teach. I have experienced learning music theory in a very challenging setting where it could be overwhelming at times and I try to bring myself down to the child or students level to not over complicate something that doesn’t need to be over complicated.
So I may not be as well versed in complex theory, I can for sure get you started in a very less stressful way that can impact your music skills now, rather than years later after taking several levels of music theory.

Hello! I am Alicia! I am a music loving, Jesus following, joy-driven, child-like kid at heart who wants to bring the fun, skill, challenge and growth to your kid! I am not your typical music teacher but I think you and your child will love it! I tend to try to reach your child’s inner goofy and ornery side through music but doubled well with custom teaching with skill and growth in where they (and you as parents) want them to grow as little growing artists!
More about me! I have been down the narrow road, I have been rejected more times than I can count, been turned down numerous times, straight up told I wasn’t good enough and I could not sing or play well. Well, it could have torn me down and made me quit trying but I used that as fuel to push me and I chose to fight to get to where I have gotten! I am thankful for all of it because it has opened doors for me to encourage others to not give up! I am actively ready to be that “yes”, or the “Maybe we aren’t there yet, but we will get there together!” and, “you are destined for greatness and that starts today!” for your child! It’s amazing what can be accomplished with you have someone fighting for you along the way! I hope to be that for your kid starting today!
That’s who I am as a teacher, a person, a caregiver and a leader but what qualifies me? What did I fight through and where have I gotten? Well I have been doing music for over 25+ years. Started with 8 years of French horn and high school band, now 24 years of guitar, singing and songwriting. With the help of college I developed skills in reading music/music theory, 5 years of professional vocal lessons and Went to a music ministry college and received my Bachelor degree in Music Ministry: Worship Leadership and Songwriting with an Emphasis in Vocal Training.

Alicia has been a great vocal coach. She is knowledgeable about music and always takes the time to explain why we do the exercises we do. She adapts lessons based on things that I told her I wanted to try. Then, she encourages me to keep going!

Alicia has been giving my 8 year old daughter singing lesson for several months. My daughter has made amazing progress and Alicia’s patience and music training is superb! She is kind hearted and has a gift to teach! We will definitely continue to have Alicia train our child and we are looking forward to the outcome!
