Hi I am Alicia! I have been doing music most of my life! Ever since I first picked up a guitar when I was 14 I barely ever put it down and started writing before I even knew how to play. I started with band in school playing the French horn in classical band and mellophone in Marching band. It gave me classic training in music and set the tone for my love of music. I am vocally trained, self-taught on guitar, piano and drums. I can almost play any instruments. Through the years I have played in several bands at church and for fun with some friends. I also attended a music ministry college where I got my bachelor degree in Music Ministry with my emphasis in Worship Leadership and Songwriting. There I was able to really add in experience with education and training which laid the way for my love becoming a career. I have served at multiple churches since and play and sing on the worship team at my church and for the youth. My goal as a music teacher is to help others who haven’t been fortunate enough to have anyone take them under their wing in the areas of growth they want to attain.

I had many people in my life mentor and help me in my skills and character as a musician but I also had a few leaders and musicians who I was disappointed in that they didn’t invest the time to help me, but it encouraged me to be that to others who need and desire it. So I hope this has been encouraging to you as well, knowing someone has your back, even if it’s a stranger for now. With time I hope to make some strong connections in the field of music.

One other important thing is I have also worked with children as a babysitter, nanny and childcare worker since I was a teen. I love LOVE to invest in children by being a friend, mentor and to teach music! So if you have a child interested in music, that’s even more my area that I would love to invest in. I believe the children of today are not just the children of tomorrow, but children of today! They are vital to help them grow in their talents, skills, character and developmental growth! I pride myself in not only teaching music but aiding in being a friend and mentor through your child’s tough moments of life, especially in this crazy year where I know stress levels are high!
