I am a Canotonese teacher based in New York City. I have been teaching professionally for over nine years.
I work with both adults and childeren with different experience levels. My classes are structured specifically to fit each student's goal to ensure progress. Having class with me should feel like talking to a friend. There is no judgement involved and you will be encouraged to speak freely.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, and spending half of my life in the US gives me a unique perspective of the eastern and western world. I believe language reflects a culture and it's perception of the world. The more we study how people commuicate, the closer we are to one's culture, and the better we are able to understand others with different values and beliefs.
Besides teaching Cantonese, I am also a professional Chinese Martial Arts (Wing Chun) instructor. It is my passion to share my Chinese culture to the world!

Being not of college age anymore, attending my first class (private no less) was nerve wracking but exciting. Alice makes you feel so comfortable right away and was very prepared, organized, and went at a speed that was easy to follow. She tries to understand your learning goals as well as your current proficiency in order to judge how to organize the lesson. Highly recommend and looking forward to all my future classes with her!
