English (ESL) with Alia I.

Hello! My name is Alia and I'm an English teacher from San Diego, CA. I have been teaching English and writing for over than 10 years. I offer English/ESL and writing lessons.I teach all levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. I’ve been teaching ESL (English as a second language) for 10 years now. I have a Bachelor degree in English Language & Translation, and TEFL (TEFL = Teaching English as a foreign language ). I am a n IELTS Band : 7 certified teacher. I have taught many different subjects, including speaking, pronunciation, grammar, business English, academic writing, and more. I've also taught beginners through very advanced English learners, as well as a range of ages, from kids to adults (although mostly teenagers and adults). I enjoy teaching everything, but especially grammar, so if you need help with grammar, I am here for you! 🤓 I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively and live abroad. From 2008 to 2018 I taught English at a university in Saudi Arabia, which was a wonderful experience. I've also traveled to Amman, Jordan and taught their for almost two years. Having lived in other countries, I understand the struggles associated with communicating in a foreign language. As a teacher, I am friendly, patient, flexible and kind (and funny, I hope!), but I also care very much about my students' learning and I create lessons that are challenging but interesting, fun, and connected to the students' real lives and/or their specific goals. I also encourage students to talk as much as possible! 📝 WRITING LESSONS 📝 In addition to teaching, I’ve also taught writing for many years at the university & college levels.
