I've been playing piano since I was in middle school. I enjoy the process of introducing the piano to new students. I love teaching beginner piano. It is a joy experiencing through my students the pleasure that comes from playing your first song! Learning to play the piano may seem overwhelming at first. There are some fundamental key elements to playing the piano that every student must tackle. It is essential to learn all about the keyboard, hand positioning, basic fingering, time signatures, rhythms, ear training, chords, scales, and all the standard practices of the piano. As an instructor, it is an honor to participate in the extraordinary, sometimes magical process of awakening musical creativity within a person, and then to watch that phenomenon unfold and bloom into something that speaks an inspiring language all its own for all to share in and enjoy!
