*Professional singer-songwriter with over 10 years experience performing professionally as well as 10+ years teaching children*

I have been performing professionally as a singer/songwriter for 10+yrs and have 5+yrs classical training in music theory, piano and vocals. I also have 10+yrs working experience as a teacher through private music schools and through a nonprofit after-school program I created, The Superhero Children Project and I specialize in teaching children and adults just starting out in music.

I have an intuitive yet classical style with teaching piano. In a typical 45minute lesson we will spend 15min with warm ups and scales, 15min learning theory and playing techniques, and 15min learning songs or taking what we've learned to write your own songs. We will be working out of standard books to learn proper playing positions, music theory, reading sheet music, and, of course, how to play! I have fun games for learning theory and will have you reading music before you know it.

Alexis Anne Moore has been teaching private lessons since 2010 and is currently available to teach lessons at your home or at her home studio in the Houston Heights. Alexis has helped students with no experience in playing become confident musicians and songwriters within weeks building self-confidence, overcoming shyness, and helping them along the path of discovering their personal sound and style.

Alexis Anne Moore has been a professional gigging musician & singer/ songwriter for over 10 years in Houston, TX. She received her music theory and operatic vocal training at HSPVA and received a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the school of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Houston with studies focused in Education and Adolescent Psychology. As an expert in rhythm guitar, songwriting and professional singing, Alexis looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Her teaching style is personal, relaxed, and encouraging for new musicians.

I am a late in life learner and was trying to self teach myself but I think Alexis has really showed what I have been doing wrong within the first few minutes of the lesson.
