Since I started playing at age 11, I have been fortunate enough to study with some prolific musicians including: UNT sax professor Brad Lelei, Grammy nominated saxophonist Myron Walden, and world renowned bass player Reggie Workman. I currently study saxophone at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. In my lessons we'll have fun while focusing on your goals. Through practice and the materials I provide, you will notice a dramatic increase in your musical abilities. See you soon!

About Alexander S.

At my lessons, I use the experience and knowledge that I have acquired from over 13 years of playing and studying music to teach students how to take their playing to the next level and reach their goals.

A recent graduate of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary music, Alex finds the best way to learn is in a fun, stress-free environment, where the instructor pays close attention to the needs of their students. I believe in cultivating an appreciation for jazz and other styles of music, paying close attention to detail, and building a strong foundation through focused practice.

Alex is an extraordinary saxophonist. I have had the pleasure of playing in a horn section with Alex on several occasions and he is definitely my first call whenever I'm looking for a sax player. Anyone would be lucky to have him as a teacher.

He is a really awesome teacher! Really feels like he cares about music and the saxophone, also about what I'm learning. He structures the lesson to fit what I want to learn.

I've attend Alex lessons since more than 6 months. He has been extremely accomodating with my crazy work-schedule and available to change hour or day even with small advance notice.
During the lessons we have fun and that is what I think is the most important thing!
Alex is really passionate about music and is capable of transmit this passion during his lessons.
I would definitely recommed him as a teacher!

Jazz at Lincoln Center

I was working within the Music Administration department where one of my jobs was to have music prepared for rehearsals and performances for the Lincoln Center Jazz Band with Wyntyn Marsalis. During this time I was also fortunate enough to be around guest artist including one of my favorite saxophonist and musicians ever, Wayne Shorter.
