My goal as a teacher is to make music enjoyable and educational for any student. I meet each of my students at their level and my passion is to ensure that all of my students' musical dreams come true.
I have studied classical guitar and saxophone since 1999. I continued my studies of both instruments while at university. While at UNT, I learned how to play all of the wind and percussion instruments and I studied piano as well. I have played in several bands and I have recorded three albums with those various groups (all original music).
-Earned undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas

-10 years of private teaching experience; I have taught 100 students since opening my private music studio. I have taught students as young as 6 and as old as 48. I also personally believe that you are never too old to start learning an instrument!
*** Lesson Details ***
Before stating specific details about my lessons, I want to say that my primary goal is for each and every lesson to be fun! Music is a wonderful universal language that everyone can relate to and I want to make the experience enjoyable for each student.
Each student is different, so therefore I must teach a different type of lesson to each individual student. This means that my lessons can be customized to meet the needs of my students.
After the first lesson, my students will have a working knowledge of their instrument and will be able to play several chords/notes enabling them to play several songs. After just a few months of instruction, my students will be able to understand the basic workings of music (both how to read music and the theory behind it). Students will be able to play a variety of songs in several styles. Students will also begin to improvise and create melodies/songs after a few months of instruction. Most importantly, students will be able to play some of their favorite music after a few lessons.
My goal in private lessons is to make the student feel as comfortable as possible. I work hard to ensure that my students’ needs are being met at all times. I am very relaxed in lessons and I strive to create a positive learning atmosphere. Even though I have a relaxed teaching style, I still expect 100% from my students.

*** Specialties ***
I teach nearly every style of guitar: classical, jazz, rock, blues, metal, country, pop/contemporary, and folk. I feel that it is important for students to be able to read music, but I also teach students to play by ear as well.
Alex is an intuitive teacher, knowledgeable and flexible. I really enjoy my lessons with him. Would recommend to anyone, any day! Thanks.
Like the fact how he gets right into the lessons and not holding back on nothing. If your are not playing in the right key/note, he will correct you right away. if you are playing right he will be the first to let you know, great job... great job. I couldn't ask for nothing more.
We're very pleased with the lessons Tessa is taking from Alex. He is very knowledgeable musically and is an upbeat, skillful instructor.
Zachary loves this teacher. Alexander enspires him. He is an excellent teacher.
My daughter is really enjoying learning the flute with Alex. He makes every lesson fun and productive.
