With a Bachelor of Arts from Marymount Manhattan College, and 4 years professional teaching experience, I am able to offer my students a diverse range of educational resources. I teach all ages! How can I help you: I will tailor your lessons to your natural style and your interests. The foundation will be on proper technique. If you're a singer, we will focus on finding the beauty and power in your voice in a healthy manner to eliminate strain and fatigue. If you're interested in preparing for auditions, you will learn how to prepare and apply those skills to nail an audition. Additionally, I take you to an actual venue in NYC to practice performing and apply what you learn in sessions with me. teaching experience: I have 4 years of teaching experience. I'm the resident vocal coach for kids recording parties. I've taught Pop vocal technique, audition prep, performance prep, and arranged repertoire for kids to build their confidence and perform in live settings. I've also taught at Broadway Dance Center. performance experience: Television Credits Include: MTV & American Idol. I've performed at the Hard Rock Cafe with Nick Cannon, The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, Café Vivaldi, and numerous venues in the NYC area. Community Theater roles include Velma Kelly in Chicago, Rosemary in How to Succeed In Business, and Maggie in A Chorus Line. *** Lesson Details *** In general, I'm pretty upbeat and fun. However, I expect you to practice. When you practice, I see improvement, you see improvement, and everyone's happy. What to expect in a voice lesson: First we focus on proper posture and breathing, as this is the foundation of singing. Then you will learn how to produce your tone in a healthy way that sounds clear and projected. Next we apply these concepts to songs (we'll choose those together, based on your goals). Finally, you will learn stage presence, expression, and confidence while singing. If you are interested in preparing for auditions such as American Idol, The Voice, X Factor, America's Got Talent, and learning how to these shows work, I can help prepare you for your audition.
