Violin with Alex M.

I am an award-winning composer and have been passionate about music all my life. I've been playing in symphonies for over a decade, have been principal violist and a featured soloist, and performed as a session player on movie scores. I've taught violin and viola since 2008 and worked with students ages 4 to adult. I am certified in the Suzuki Method and also teach what is sometimes referred to as "traditional lessons." You are never too old to begin learning music! I've worked with beginners of all ages. Learning to play violin or viola is about so much more than just classical music and scales! Although we love scales. Especially played fast. In addition to solid fundamentals of technique and musicality, I teach a broad range of styles including classical, folk/fiddle, pop, movie and video game scores. You'll get to learn the music that YOU want to play! I also teach composition and music theory (which is beneficial skill set for performers and composers alike).
