Common Core Math with Alex K.

My name is Alexander. I have tutored many students in both Math and Science. My focus is teaching Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry and SAT & ACT test prep for HS students, and GED test prep for international students. I also work with many 7th and 8th Graders on Core Math skills and SSAT/ISEE/SHSAT. In special cases I work with college students on Calculus I and II. Every student is different, and I customize the lessons to match the student’s needs. I am confident that I can not only improve the student’s grasp of the math fundamentals, but also build the student’s confidence. Most of my students see score increases following tutoring. I teach students strategies for how to tackle each section of the test and the content they will need to know in order to excel. I also work with students on timing strategies so they neither run out of time nor rush during a section. I do assign weekly homework for students to practice the strategies they learn and feel comfortable with them so they will use them during the test. All this experience has taught me that all students can learn math and that I have excellent skills in convincing students of their abilities and helping students succeed and even excel in mathematics.
