We all learn languages for different reasons. You might want to succeed in a class. You might want to translate with proficiency. You might even want to enter boldly into the heart and soul of an ancient writer.

Whatever your goals may be, I want to encourage and guide you on your journey along the rugged and sometimes scary linguistic roads paved by the ancient Greeks and Romans. Through a deliberate and stepwise process I will help you master the grammatical logic of the language, teaching you not just what to learn, but how to learn. If this all seems very serious, don't worry, there will also be lighthearted fun along the way.

I hold a master's degree in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Biblical Greek and have three years experience in tutoring graduate students in Greek.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if are looking for help with beginner to advanced Koine or Latin.

About Alex F.

Hi, I'm Alex. My idea of a good time is reading and discussing ancient texts, especially the Bible, over a cup of coffee with friends. This age-old method, I believe, is one of the best ways to learn dead languages like Greek and Latin. While I love to analyze and question the details of texts with my students, this process is rarely mechanical. Rather, I want my students to absorb information without realizing they are absorbing it.
