Learn voice from a teacher with 10+ years of professional stage experience.

The foundation of any great singing technique, regardless of the style of music, starts with breathing. It is the most overlooked part of technique from beginner to professional. We start every lesson working on breathing for a minimum of 15 mins. After the breathe training, we will start working on using the breathe to create a functional support system for the voice. Once that has been achieved, we will work drills trying to combine everything we learned during that lesson.

    About Alex D.

Hi, My name is Alex DeSocio and I am an operatic baritone. I have been teaching private lessons for musical theater and classical voice since May of 2012. I specialize in training classical voice and breathing technique, but have some history teaching musical theater and rock style. My vocal technique is combination of Bel Canto and German traditions with a basis in kinesiology. I am originally from Wichita, KS and I received my BM in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University and my MM in Operatic Performance at the University of Maryland with the Maryland Opera Studio. My professional experience has taken me all over the country. I have sung on the stages of the Metropolitan Opera twice as a semi-finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions, the San Francisco Opera twice as part of the Merola Opera Program, the Houston Grand Opera as a Eleanor McCollum Competition Finalist, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago as a Ryan Center Finalist. I have even performed for the Belgium Royal Family as part of the Queen Elisabeth Competition where I was given the title of Laureate of Belgium. This title is given to winners of said competition. If you think I could be of help teaching you how to sing, let me know.
