Bonjour et bonne journée! My name is Alex Choyce (if you haven't noticed already) and I am a former student of the University of North Texas where I graduated with a B.A. in Music. There I gained an extensive training in music theory and was one of the few selected to study theory with Dr. Joán Groom, a former student of the world renowned French teacher Nadia Boulanger. Composition classes, such as the beginning composition classes and, later, orchestration, helped augment both my knowledge of theory and composition. Private studies in composition with Dr. Panayiotis Kokoras, Dr. Kirsten Broberg, and film/concert composer Alain Mayrand greatly helped as well. I hope to share my knowledge of theory with the student and how it applies to the music they love. So for now... Au revoir!+ Read More
I had to compose light, uplifting Jazz music that played whenever a student finished a lesson on Defensive Driving Professor.
I had to transcribe J.A.C. Redford's fully orchestrated "Strike Action" and "Rooftop" for trumpet, harp, and string quartet.
States that I am qualified to teach at any academic institution from early childhood to the 12th grade in Texas.
