- Teaches students:
- Ages 5+ and special needs
- Teaching since:
I am a professional guitarist, composer and music teacher. I've started playing guitar at the age of 10, and have vigorously worked on developing my skills for the past 22 years.
I have taught guitar for over 10 years, having worked with students aged from 6 to 88, as well as those with special needs. I firmly believe in working with each student by adapting my teaching style to their particular needs and pace. I put an accent on removing any tension from the player's hands and body in order to help them achieve their maximum playing ability and unlock their own individual sound. Once the student can play with a relaxed body and confidence, there is no limit to what they can achieve.
Besides teaching at a music school and privately I have spent a few years teaching online, mostly recording video lessons and tutorials. This has helped me push my own limits and has enabled me to take on any guitar piece with confidence and an attitude that It's only a matter of time and the right approach when I will be able to play it flawlessly. I apply the same standard to all of my students.
As a professional artist, I've spent many hours on stage and experienced what it is like to play in front of thousands of people, so I know how to prepare my students so they can safely go through the same experience. Live performance is invaluable to your growth compared to practicing at home or rehearsing with your band.
I have experimented with various techniques such as 8-finger tapping, finger picking shred, economy picking, percussive techniques and many others, but my playing style is mostly based around alternate picking. However, I encourage my students to try different techniques until they eventually choose those they are most comfortable with and persistently work on them until they can fully express themselves through their playing. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your full potential!
