I've been teaching piano and art lessons for 7 years and I've been associated with TakeLessons for 6 of those years in 2 different cities.
I love helping my students learn to perform and acquire new skills and self confidence. I studied privately and then earned a Masters in Fine Art in 2004. I'm an encouraging, flexible and light-hearted individual and my teaching style includes the classical method and basic to intermediate theory integrated with contemporary methods.
I also employ an enjoyable environment and open communication with parents/guardians and adult students.
A 16 year old student whom was a virtuoso classical guitarist came to me because he never learned how to sight read. Within 6 months he was writing his own music!
I look forward to helping you reach your goals! I encourage anyone who is interested in learning to begin lessons with the knowledge that they can eventually create any kind of art they desire.
I continue to perform and create which enables me to sharpen and maintain my skills.
I hope to have an opportunity to meet you soon!!!
I encourage you to ask any questions you have!!!
*****I highly encourage scheduling only 30 minutes for children younger than 12 or beginners of any age. It is difficult for students to concentrate and enjoy their lesson if it lasts 45 minutes unless they are at a more intermediate or advanced stage. Students are more likely to enjoy piano if they enjoy their lessons.
Basic to intermediate music theory
Oil paint - abstract, realism, surrealism
Beginning - Advanced Music Theory which is necessary to "sight read" any kind of music.
