I can teach a student how to develop a good ear that can aid him or her in: learning music more quickly, sight reading, and good relative pitch.  I teach this through a series of musical notation, reading music, playing/singing back melodies and pitches.  Much of this will be combined with my singing lessons, as one will have to develop a good hear for pitch in order to stay in key by oneself.

Hello!  I have been teaching the fundamentals of classical singing for many years now and have received a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in vocal and opera performance.  I promote a fun, determined, and healthy learning environment in order to make sure that my students learn the technical fundamentals in breathing, relaxation, production, and projection.  My classical and operatic training has given me a wealth of vocal knowledge and allows me to make sure all styles of singing are executed as efficiently and healthfully as possible allowing my students to express their talents as much as they can for the least amount of effort.

He was a terrible instructor. Learned nothing from this dude.

Alec is an excellent teacher. Not all talented performing artists and/ or musicians have the ability to teach well . Alec is really remarkable in his ability to assess individual ability and learning needs and to implement a plan of instruction based on sound theory. My daughter has had an interest in musical theater ever since she was little, and has recently expressed a desire to expand her vocal capabilities, in order to enhance her level of performance. Through working with Alec, she has learned a great amount of technique, while working on developing a mature yet enjoyable repertoire.  Alec is an extremely knowledgeable musician and instructor, maintains an attitude of professionalism and amicability and is flexible in regards to scheduling lessons. He is wonderful at providing motivation and encouragement to his students, while challenging them to grow as musicians. Even though my daughter has only been taking lessons with Alec for a few months, I have already witnessed a tremendous improvement in her singing as well as confidence in her performing. I would highly recommend Alec to any interested vocal student!

Alec is an incredibly dedicated teacher.  He teaches with enthusiasm and I always have a lot of fun at each lesson.  He is incredibly knowledgable of how the voice works and can always give advice on any vocal issue that I might be working out.  He is not only helpful in vocal technique but also is a great help with repertoire, audition preparation, diction, and the music business side of things.  I couldn't recommend him more!

Alex really helped my daughter improve her overall vocals. There was a tough two years of  vocal challenges for her, strength of voice, note holding... she was ready to give up.  Alex developed a regimen consisting of exercises and techniques that allowed her to focus and gain the desired result and WOW!!!  Not only did the regimen work but the tone, pitch and clarity of her voice is phenomenal!

Alec is a phenomenal teacher! He's very easy going and very knowledgeable! He works with you no matter what skill level and makes you feel comfortable. Totally recommend him!

Alec is the best singer and teacher I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He totally knows how to make you feel comfortable and really knows what he's talking about. He also has a very good way of using analogies and visuals to help describe what you should be doing with your body, which makes it so much easier to get in the right voice. After one 2-hour lesson with him, my singing improved drastically. He has a lot of good insight and anybody who's serious in getting better at singing (regardless of genre) should really consider taking lessons with him. I hope I can keep doing lessons with him, going to try to continue via online.
