I am currently 21 years old and have had chess be a part of my life ever since my great grandfather had taught me how to play. I started my teaching career as a helper for my old teacher when I was 12 years old. I started doing 1 on 1 lessons and small group lessons starting when I was 15 years old and did it all through out high school. In college I volunteered at the local library and would teach chess lessons for free.  I have experience working with students from ages 5-13 and still keep in contact with a few of my past students. I have a straight forward style and will not only teach your child chess but also discipline, curiosity, and thoughtfulness. I look forward to connecting and working with you.

My name is Alec F. and I am currently an honors student at Marquette University. I study Finance and History at school, but have many outside interests. I believe that a  good fundamental education has been important in my development. I am an active member of my community and put in my best effort with all of my commitments. I also pride myself in being a good friend and mentor so if you ever want to talk I will make time. I look forward to meeting and working with anyone who is interested in getting better at whatever they want to do.

Alec was very thorough with the lessons from the start and he seemed to have a set plan for how to progress next. He did not only teach the elements of chess but also trained in particular techniques and with "puzzles" for additional practice.

Alec tailor's each lesson to reinforce what was already tought and builds on it. Lessons are organized and well thought out, challenging and fun.  Most importantly, effective.

Alec is a phenomenal teacher and mentor. Well thought out lessons . Develops strong connection with students.

Alec has been my chess teacher since I was 6 years old.  He always pushed me to think but also made it fund.  We even put bets on how well I do puzzles.

Alec has been a great teacher to my son. I have seen many improvements in his skills, as well as a greater fascination for chess. Really enjoyable times for him training with Alec. I would recommend him time and time again, truly a five star instructor!
