Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
I studied Turkish on an intensive level at Dilmer Language School in Istanbul, Turkey during the summer of 2008. I enrolled in this school as part of a FLAS (Foreign Language Area Studies) scholarship that I received from Georgetown University's Department of Eastern European Studies. I lived in Turkey for the summer of 2008 and formally studied Turkish for four hours per day in addition to practicing it regularly with locals. With formal university study of language, I can teach students grammar, reading and writing skills, as well as skills for oral communication (listening and speaking). My teaching style is compassionate and concerned with the students' needs and preferred learning styles. I also have extensive resources and media for language learning (for example: books, grammar resources, music, movies, etc.)

Hello! Ciao! Bonjour! ¡Hola!
My name is Albert Doug Honegan. I am a Venice/Sarasota native. I speak nine languages and have lived in Brazil, Morocco, Spain, Turkey, and around the USA teaching English and other languages. I have also worked as a community interpreter and translator with formal training.
I graduated from Riverview High School (Sarasota, FL) with an International Baccalaureate Diploma. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language and Literature from Georgetown University.
I have been teaching languages for ten years, and my students affirm that I help them learn their target language far beyond their intended goals.
