    About Alan S.

I am classical guitarist, electric guitarist, educator, and composer. I have studied the electric guitar for the past 15 years and I have studied the classical guitar for past 6 years. I have graduated from McNally Smith College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in guitar performance. I am currently pursuing a Master of Music in guitar performance at the University of Southern California where I study privately with Scott Tennant, and have additionally received instruction from Pepe Romero, William Kanengiser, and Brian Head. I design my curriculum based on the student’s goals and interests as a music student. I understand that everyone’s goals are different, and I am ready to help you reach yours whether you are an aspiring professional, or just playing for the enjoyment of music. Coming from a self-taught music background (ages 13-22), I can relate with the challenges and plateaus that can occur with learning and also how to move past them. I am extremely patient with my students and look to balance motivation, interest, and growth while taking lessons. My goal is for students to enjoy the process of learning an instrument. Some of the musical styles I teach: Classical, Rock, Metal, Jazz, Pop, etc.
