Alan tutored my youngest for in total I think about 8 months in drums and he's amazing. He's patient with younger kids, he's steady and focused on the course material and was always able to keep my easily distracted son in the lesson. He was encouraging and flexible and we just loved him. Unfortunately my son got a little over scheduled and needed to pick an activity to drop and one on one tutoring for drums was what he picked. But we expect he'll want to go back one day as he still plays the drums and when he does, we'd love to be able to work with Alan again. He's an exceptional teacher and on the rare occasion that Mr. Alan would play the drums to show my son a beat, wow he's an amazing drummer to listen too as well.

I have taken lessons from at least 5 different instructors over the course of the past 10 years. I would have to say that Alan is the best instructor I've ever taken lessons from. Not only is he a phenomenal drummer and teacher, but also a great person. I believe our friendship made the lessons that much more beneficial. I am always excited to attend lessons and eager to learn more. My drumming skills have improved immensely. From Latin, jazz, to rock, Alan has taught me how to play different genres. Consequently, he has helped me accomplish my goal in becoming a more versatile musician. I highly recommend Alan !

Professional, patient, and pleasant!

Alan has been my 15-year-old son's drum instructor for five years now, and in that time, my son has progressed from being a complete novice to drumming in a very decent teen band. With Alan, you get solid teaching skills, a pleasant personality, and great flexibility in arranging lessons. We love the fact that he provides instruction in our home--one less runaround for us! Alan is a musician who knows how to teach and inspire, and we recommend him without reservation.

Excellent instructor

I've been studying with Alan for more than a year. He is an excellent, reliable teacher and an outstanding drummer. His lessons are clear and concise. His communication skills are excellent. Also, I'm very happy with the syllabus he has put together for me, as we use a variety of instruction books. I feel like there's a definite path towards improvement. You won't be disappointed if Alan is your teacher...

Alan is a great drum teacher

Alan teaches my 15 year old son drums. He is a real professional player and teacher. I cannot believe how much my son has learned in his first 6 months! Alan is patient but also holds my son accountable by not giving him a pass if something is not right. He is a pleasant man too - always smiling. I highly recommend him.

Alan is a great music teacher

I contacted Alan when I was searching for a teacher that would teach a complete novice. I was looking to finally get into learning drums (at middle age) --- it was something I had always wanted to do but never had time to do earlier in life.

Alan is extremely professional and reliable. In my case, he provides in-home lessons, and he has been punctual and reliable for every single lesson. His teaching style is easygoing and comfortable. He is encouraging and responsive to questions. He is thorough in assignments and listens well if you have a specific direction you want to go in. Very glad to have found him!
