Overview

I have a BA, MA, ERYT-200, and have been a student of philosophy and world spirituality since my early teens, and a student of Yoga for the past 20 years. I hold a BA and an MA (in Philosophy and Liberal Arts) from the University of Pennsylvania. I am registered as an eRYT 200 through Yoga Alliance, and also earned a 300-hour certification through Dr. David Frawley’s American Institute of Vedic Studies, and I'm finishing a 500-hour training next month.

In addition to my formal training, I have studied Yoga with other teachers both in India and the U.S., including Sri Karunamayi, David Swenson, Sri Anandi Ma, Ganga White, Tracey Rich, and Dharma Mittra. For the past 12 years, I've taught Yoga full-time in Pennsylvania, Florida, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. In 2006, I opened Yoga University, a 200-Hr Yoga Alliance registered school, which trains and certifies those desiring to teach yoga as a profession, as well as to promote and raise awareness about Yoga and its rich heritage.

Allowah is not only an extremely talented yoga teacher, musician, and writer, he is a true blessing to this world. To know him is to love him and to better love/know thyself. What I have learned from this man, both physically and spiritually, is priceless. My life hasn't been the same since. I had done yoga for years prior to meeting him, but now I have a much deeper appreciation and love of this ancient way of life. His profound knowledge isn't all serious though--there is much to learn from his playfulness, kindness, sincerity, intuition, humbling nature, and unconditional love. You can tell he has put his whole heart into this practice and it is a joy to share it with him. I am still learning and growing in more ways than I imagined, all because of meeting this incredible being full of light. Time for you to enjoy that too!

Besides being an an excellent yoga teacher who intuitively adapts to the needs of his students, Alan is a highly evolved yogi who can help you to love yourself, other people and life. He has changed my life and he can change yours. Highly recommended!

I have taken many yoga classes with Allowah, including a three week 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Kauai, Hawaii. Allowah is by far the best yoga instructor I have come across in my 5 years of practice. Additionally, he is an excellent meditation guide and utilizes this before and after classes to help students go very deep in their practice.

Allowah's yoga style is very unique because he often plays you music on one of his many instruments. This helped me to truly become one with the moment and find my blissful state.

Allowah is skilled in just about every form of yoga: Hatha, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Acro Yoga, Children's Yoga, Partner Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Beach Yoga, Iyengar, etc. Personally, I would just let Allowah custom tailor a routine for you.
