I am a classically trained pianist with a Bachelor's Degree in Music earned from the University of Central Florida. I also have vocal training and much experience with writing original music. I have been teaching private music lessons since 2000 and I am excited to further build my teaching studio online and in person. Since 2008 I have been teaching in Los Angeles and I am planning to relocate to South Florida to be closer to family this August/September, 2018. I am currently accepting new students in Broward and Palm Beach county. I am available for online lessons currently and once I make the move, I will be able to switch to in person lessons for anyone local to Broward and Palm Beach county. For local students I offer lessons in your home as well as in my studio. I am a very dedicated teacher and I have had students stay with me from age 8-18. I organize at least two recitals a year and I have done competitions with my students and often help them prepare for auditions and school performances as well. I am a passionate and experienced teacher and also a performer myself. So I enjoy helping students learn music and also embrace performance if that is their goal! I look forward to meeting you and sharing lots of music education with you and/or your child. : ) I AM RELOCATING TO SOUTH FLORIDA IN AUGUST/SEPTEMBER, 2018. I am accepting new students in Broward and Palm Beach County. I am looking to build a full and thriving music studio in the South Florida area. I look forward to speaking with you. Please call or email me with any questions you have! : )

Aiyana is a great music teacher. She has coached my son for more than 10 years, since he was 4 years old, She is able to work with young kids and teenagers and tailors her approach to their personality, to help them perform their best. I have seen her coach a number of students successfully over a number of years to help them develop a love of music and get proficient with their chosen instrument or type of music. I recommend Aiyana to anyone looking for a piano, flute or vocals teacher!

Ms.Aiyana is a very patient, energetic, and knowledgeable teacher. My kids enjoy her instruction and are becoming well-rounded piano players. She allows the kids to choose their own songs and keeps us parents informed on their progress. Twice a year she holds a recital with all her students and it is enjoyable to see the marked improvement of all her students. We are indeed lucky to be part of her program,

    Experience

    Private music teacher

    Feb, 2000 - Present

    Self-employed music teacher

~In 2000 in Orlando, Florida I started teaching piano at a music shop called "Music Shack". I taught at Music Shack from 2000-2008. ~In 2003 I graduated from University of Central Florida with B.A. in music and my specialization and primary instrument was piano. ~In 2004 I also started teaching at a piano store in Longwood, FL where I rented space and students came to me for lessons. ~In 2008 I moved to Los Angeles, CA where I got a teaching position at a music store called "Guitar Merchant". I started teaching voice and flute in addition to piano at guitar merchant. I worked there as a teacher until 2015. ~2012: I joined the Music Teacher's Association of California and I currently participate in their yearly piano evaluation exam called Certificate of Merrit. Certificate of Merritt is a well rounded music evaluation program designed to help motivated students move through a more structured music learning program. Upon relocating to South Florida I intend to join a similar professional organization in the area. ~2014 to present: I started teaching a weekly group music class to pre-school aged students at a Montessori Preschool. I do concerts twice a year with this group. One for Holiday time in December and one for their Preschool Graduation in June. ~2015-present: I am currently on my own as a self employed private music teacher. I have students who come to my studio, take lessons online, and I also travel quite bit to student's homes for the lessons. I have a full studio of 30+ students and two group classes. I AM RELOCATING TO SOUTH FLORIDA IN AUGUST/SEPTEMBER, 2018. I am accepting new students in Broward and Palm Beach County. I am looking to build a full and thriving music studio in the South Florida area. I look forward to speaking with you. Please call or email me with any questions you have! : )

Certificate of Merritt is a structure music learning program for motivated students who get evaluated on sight-reading, technique, ear training, performance, and tested in music theory at their level. There are levels which the students pass, starting with preparatory and then go all the way through level 9 and then level 10 is the top "Advanced" level. I currently have two students working on the advanced level and have 14 other students work on various levels throughout the program.
