Hello! I'm a former dancer (non professional) and current architect with 13 years of dance experience, and two years of teaching experience in a studio. I'm really excited to teach dance, particularly ballet and tap to both new and experienced students. I have worked a lot with young children, and have developed a nearly endless amount of patience for those new to dance. I had to stop dancing a few years ago due to a repeated injury, but intend to stay involved in the dance community for as long as possible.
In class, I am to promote healthy habits and technique (this is VERY important to me), develop a familiarization with dance terminology and vocabulary, and most importantly, make sure students are engaged and having FUN!
I'm happy to travel to you or any location you have in mind-- I currently do not have a studio space of my own. The minimum requirements for a dance space are hard floors and mirrors.
While I had the "assistant" title, for two years at the YMCA I co-taught ballet an jazz to boys and girls ages 3-14. Younger classes focused on listening and very basic terminology, but also keeping students engaged and always having fun. Older classes were heavily focused on technique and group choreography.+ Read More
