I am a composer, educator, and saxophonist looking to help students of all ages and backgrounds understand music as deeply as possible. I firmly believe that ear training and practical theory that helps students gain an understanding of a wide variety of music will help them appreciate and love music more deeply--it's like listening in full color! I believe that all music has the potential to be great, and I want to help aspiring musicians and composers learn to be the best artists they can be. I am an experienced teacher and composer who teaches music theory and composition at The Community Music Center of Boston and holds a master's degree from Boston University, where I studied with esteemed composer Joshua Fineberg. I am also an experienced saxophonist who studied under Idit Shner at the University of Oregon. I relish the opportunity to teach music to students of all skill levels with a focus on any style a student wishes, but don't think that means you'r education will be limited! I believe eclecticism is one of the finest virtues a musician can have, and there's something valuable every genre has to teach us.
