Studio is currently full. Graduated from The Juilliard School with both my Master's and Bachelor's degree. Studied with the principal of the NY Philharmonic. Suzuki Certified Teacher. Currently on faculty at an established music institute in CT and the Assistant Principal violist of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. More about me: I am a highly qualified professional, working full time as a performer and teacher. The flexibility, affordability and convenience of my services comes from a desire to make music more accessible to all. Especially to those who feel discouraged for developing a passion for music later in life. I mainly teach classical music but I love Irish fiddling, and can learn any tune by ear and teach it to you! Although I am a busy working musician, I can't think of a better use of time than sharing the joy of music making with others. I am new to TakeLessons, but I am in no means new to teaching. I have 12 years of experience teaching all levels - from mentoring/teaching students in the Juilliard Pre-College program, to teaching those with no prior experience. Part of what makes me unique as a teacher is my active performance career, and the ability to give extensive professional advice and insight into the music world. I have the highest level of training in the country from my 6 years at Juilliard, and have traveled to Florida, NYC, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Colorado, and California to perform with professional ensembles. I am currently based in CT and play regularly with the Hartford Symphony and New Haven Symphony orchestras. Some highlights from my career include performing with Yo-Yo Ma at the Kennedy Center Honors, performing a concert with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and playing at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, the New York Supreme Court building, and the United Nations Headquarters. Disclaimer: If novice student is under the age of 12, there must be parental involvement to make up for the physical presence of the teacher. A child learns best by copying what they see and hear, and with hands-on guided awareness. After years of teaching many students from ages 5-12, I have found that children need the full attention and care from both their teacher (in person) and parent. Otherwise, their learning experiences often turn out to be unproductive and frustrating.

My son has taken lessons for over a year and we are so impressed at how she combines patience and encouragement with high expectations for technique. She emphasizes fundamentals and does not rush through songs so that he can absorb and practice the studies from each. We’ve taken online lessons and they’ve worked surprisingly well for making an engaging lesson where details and fine tones are noticed.

    Teacher's studio
Very patient, flexible, and encouraging. She also adapts very well to the student and is willing to switch things up, or change her approach altogether to accommodate the student's aptitude and interests. Highly recommended.

(Adult student here). I studied music in college (but never strings), and I've never had online music lessons until now. The remote lessons are comparable to in person lessons and it's easy to stay in touch between lessons if needed. I appreciate the attention to detail for technique, and the pace of introduction of new skills is good/appropriate. The lessons go by fast and I've seen a tremendous improvement in a short amount of time. Highly recommend!
