"So Russell, what do you love about music?"
"To begin with...everything."
One of my favorite quotes from my favorite movie, Almost Famous.
I'll spare you the snooze worthy details of my background, which is probably similar to everyone's profile on here. Instead I'll highlight what sets me apart.
Broad Music Style and Interest - On any given day, I can listen to, perform, practice, or play everything from the Beatles to Bach to the Beastie Boys
Extensive Training - I studied with the Principal Harpist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and have performed with the prestigious Curtis Symphony Orchestra
Focused but Fun - I keep students on task but have a light hearted, humorous approach to teaching.
Communicative - I'm available 24/7 (well, minus the hours I'm sleeping) if you have any questions during your practice during the week. I accept text messages and videos. I support you at all times!
References and Experience - I've been teaching for over 5 years and believe I have a fresh approach to an outdated teaching method.
I maintain a private lessons studio in my home in Scottsdale. I teach harp, piano, and flute lessons.
I was a primary instructor for a local music school and I specialize in piano, flute, and harp lessons.
I am a substitute harp teacher for this great organization which is a music education program with the priority of serving the social and cultural needs of at-risk children in the City of Philadelphia. I have assisted in teaching a group of four young women and helping them prepare for their annual concert.+ Read More
I made lesson plans for a class of ten 1st grade harp students. I gave weekly lessons individually and as a group to prepare them for their end of year concert. This was through the Harp Pedagogy program at Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland.+ Read More
I made lesson plans to teach a group of preschool children in a general music class setting.
Adrienne is a professional teacher with stunning credentials! My previous harp teacher highly recommended her to me to continue my studies as a therapeutic harpist. She has a beautiful performance style and a great personality. Her teaching skills are amazing. In 6 months, she has improved my tone, timing, and technique so much that people at my facilities are inviting me to play at their events. And that is the proof. Thank you Adrienne!+ Read More
What a great first lesson! I chose Adrienne for a harp teacher because of her description, "From the Beatles, to Bach, to the Beastie Boys..." I'm a classically trained guitarist, full-time guitar teacher, and contemporary guitar/vocal performer. I bought a Celtic harp last spring, thought maybe I could learn via Youtube videos. Nope. Not enough good instruction, not enough motivation. I was thrilled to find that Adrienne is BIG on technique, as I am with my guitar students. She was so encouraging throughout our Take Lessons Classroom session! I have a lot of practicing to do before next week's lesson, and I am so psyched!+ Read More
Adrienne taught my daughter Harp. Adrienne was incredible with her, making her feel comfortable and happy to be playing, even when my daughter did not want to play. I especially liked how she was always on time, never late.
As an adult beginner, I was a little apprehensive but Adrienne immediately made me feel comfortable. She's very interested in my goals and dedicated to helping me achieve them. Working a full-time job with inconsistent hours can be challenging and she's always accommodating.+ Read More
My son Christopher had a lesson with Adrienne. He liked her very much and is looking forward to his next lesson. She has a lovely personality, and I think she will work very well with him.
Adrienne worked with my daughter on a special piece on the harp, which was new to her. She has a caring, consistent demeanor and high expectations for her students. My daughter enjoyed going to her sessions and learned in the best situation possible. Thank you Adrienne!+ Read More
My niece loves her & is very excited about all she is learning
Adrienne is an excellent instructor. My daughter had no experience with the flute but a great desire to play. She could not even get sound out of the flute. After the first lesson she was playing, By the second lesson she was making notes. Thanks to Adrienne my daughter has the confidence to try out for band at school this year.
My daughter was very nervous at first. Adrienne is very friendly and put my daughter at ease right away. She looks forward to her lessons with Adrienne. We have a couple of lessons left and hopefully we will be able to continue with Adrienne.
Adrriene welcomed me into her very neat, well-lit and cozy house, and into an overall comfortable atmosphere. She was very warm and patient, and took my personal musical goals in mind. (I'm not planning to become a concert harpist, but to learn to play and enjoy the 19-string celtic harp that my wife bought me as a gift, and perhaps play in church.) With this in mind, she took off with the first lesson with a song that I've been wanting to learn for a very long time, and made it into an exercise. I should now, with a two-week time gap for practice, be able to learn to correctly position my fingers and pluck the strings with a clear and crisp sound. Looking forward to my second lesson.+ Read More
great teacher for young students
Adrienne is a wonderful music teacher. She makes music easily accessible to young children (and their tone deaf parents). She is very patient, organized, and responsible. We highly recommend her.
