I have been a musician the majority of my life and have taught music professionally for over 8 years. I was fascinated with the guitar at the age of 10, and started taking lessons, practicing and playing for fun with my brothers and friends in my city. By high school I was performing regularly and started getting professional sideman work in different groups, and really getting into playing jazz. That led me to pursue jazz studies at University of Missouri, Kansas City where I met tons of musicians in the local scene and beyond, collaborating in many different creative projects as well as landing a good amount of session work. I have been fortunate enough to be able to meet, play with, and learn from some of my favorite musicians in the style. With these experiences, I became aware of how to network and meet more people, be desirable to work with, and overall how what to practice to become a better and well-rounded musician. Throughout this time, another passion of mine emerged in the world of music production and beatmaking, through growing up listening to hip hop and electronic music. In this modern time, music technology has gotten so impressive, and the creative possibilities are so endless even in a humble home studio. I started producing music at home out of curiosity, and soon found work through that avenue as well, working on albums and films, finding myself in nice recording studios, or sending tracks from my own home studio. With this background, I have a unique connection to both beatmakers/producers as well as anyone who is simply looking to improve their musicality in a practical and useful way. I won't waste anyone's time in a lesson teaching something they can't use and will always tailor the lesson to be applicable to the student's goals and style. Hope to see you around!
