    About Adam S.

I'm a graduate student at ECU studying masters in violin performance. In between undergrad and grad school, I maintained a private studio of about 23 students for five years, and am currently certified by the Suzuki association to teach their method through book 4. Choosing to play violin was the best decision I ever made. I started when I was 11 and haven’t looked back ever since. Having violin as the constant through all the wonderful, trying, and even confusing parts of my life has made me a better person. Now I don’t expect all my students to have the same experience as I did, but nothing makes me happier than to bring the joy I’ve developed with violin to other people’s lives. I teach the songs from the Suzuki method, and supplement them with appropriate sight reading books. Playing violin is more about finding which muscles NOT to use rather than which ones TO use so your good instincts about what to do when playing can shine through.
