About Adam P.
Hello! My name is Adam Peterson, and I am passionate about teaching music. I am an Arizona native, and I was 9 years old when I started playing the viola in my school's orchestra and singing in my school's choir. Participating in music has made an essential impact on my life. I learned how to express myself through this art-form, and I gained a healthy and fulfilling outlet that has helped me time and time again. Making music has calmed me through stressful times in school and work, and it has brought me joy and meaning through tragedy and pain. I know that I would not be the person I am today if I had not made music such an important aspect of my life. I teach to share this experience with others. My private students consist of young children learning the basics, advanced students preparing auditions, and adults wanting to learn something new. I love music, and I love sharing my passion for music with my students.

My 10-year-old cellist LOVED learning from Adam Peterson. He really cares about his students as a whole person, and he is patient, kind, and encouraging. I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn a new instrument!

Adam is a phenomenal teacher! I have had the pleasure of working with Adam as co-teachers while we were undergraduates in the ASU music education program and then again as orchestra teachers with Mesa Public Schools. His violin students play exceptionally well and he consistently has violin students pass auditions into the district's honors orchestra. A+ teacher!

Adam is an amazing and gifted teacher! He truly loves music and inspires the same in his students through exploration of a variety of musical pieces, positive reinforcement, and praise. He has taught my daughter for a number of years, and his dedication and patience set him apart from any other instructor she has had.

I have a high maintenance child that often struggles with behavior in the school environment. I was hesitant to sign him up, even though he wanted to, as 'Specials' seemed to be a particular trigger.
Adam found a plan and a connection with my son that made him successful. Not only as a music student, but an overall student. He looked forward to the class, wanted to do well in it and thrived in a way that can only be attributed to Adam. I require a lot of communication as well, to ensure I'm being a good partner at home. Adam always reached out to me via email or phone. And not just with opportunities, but when there was success as well. And as a parent who didn't get a lot of success emails or calls, I can't explain how impactful that was for us both!
