I tutor in English language arts and Humanities, including history, social studies, and music theory. Additionally, I am on the faculty at Prep Center in Los Angeles and have several private students focused on writing and SAT English preparation. I enjoy working with students to develop essential academic skills, such as research annotation, outlining, prewriting, editing, and presentation. With English students, I strive for a well-rounded approach to language development: by balancing vocabulary, grammar, reading, analysis, and writing, students are able to grow the tools necessary for communicating in any field. For History and Social studies students, I work to develop an understanding of the subject matter, and then applying that understanding to historical analysis. By tracing both individual events and large-scale developments, we create an effective grasp of the material. I also work with several students in tutoring for beginning French and Music theory/Music history.
