I am a certified public school music teacher with a bachelors degree in music and a masters degree in music education with a concentration in piano. I have successfully prepared students for NYSSMA auditions for many years. My philosophy of teaching is to fit the lessons to the student, always working on improving musical knowledge and skills. I like to use a combination of classical, folk, and popular music to keep the student's interest. Scales, arpeggios, and chords are introduced early and are an integral part of every assignment. I have held annual recitals to hone student's performance skills. As a member of Music Teachers National Association, National Association for Music Education, and Suffolk Piano Teachers Foundation, I learn new ways to teach, as well as giving my students more opportunities to perform. I enjoy working with students of all ages, to see them grow musically and become able to learn the skills necessary for them to play whatever they wish.
