About Ms. Abi S.
A passionate educator and Suzuki trained teacher, I teach individual and group classes with Suzuki Strings of Austin, violin and viola students at Bedichek Middle School, and run a private violin and viola home studio in Austin and online.
In violin lessons with me, you can expect the focus to go far beyond the technical aspects of the violin, encouraging each student to flourish and reach their full potential. I believe that every student has the ability, drive, and capacity to succeed at, love, and learn from the violin. Whether you're an adult new to the instrument, a young child trying out music lessons for the first time, or an older student returning to the instrument after a few years off, violin lessons will serve as a meaningful musical outlet, a way to discover self-directed learning, and a way to engage with an entire community of musicians.

Abi is a great teacher. She always comes up with very practical methods to improve my specific skills and I benefit a lot from here. And you can feel her teaching passion too!

Abigail was an enthusiastic teacher who helped spread her love of the violin. She is classically trained and works on the fundamental skills a young violinist needs. Our child enjoyed her sense of humor as well.

Violin Faculty & Chamber Music Camp Director
Jun 2015 - Aug 2018Community Music Center - Richmond Branch
Give weekly lessons to students, ages 4 and up. I teach beginning students, adult students returning to the violin after time off, and a range in between. I set weekly practice goals with each student, and help parents understand what they can do to support their children in daily practice. Most importantly, we develop an ease of playing the violin and make sure students are always engaged and loving the work they do.
