    All lessons for age 12 and over are a minimum of one hour. Under 12 years can be negotiable between 1/2 hr. and 3/4 hr. in length. Due to my maternal grandfather's career as a Chicago vaudeville orchestra leader, from early childhood, the performing arts have been in my blood. Starting to study classical flute at age 12, then playing in the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras and taking professional jazz/classical flute workshops/master classes, I've been teaching and playing all styles of flute music professionally since my 20's. Vocal study began at age 15 with some great artists/educators in SF, Seattle, and Europe, including Bobby McFerrin, Mark Murphy, Broadway singer Adrian West, David Tigner- SF Opera, Davida Kagan-Seattle Opera, and Roland Wyatt- Manhattan Transfer coach /NY Academy of Dramatic Arts. Through many years of teaching experience, I've developed a very successful, uniquely simple 8 part method to help cross cultural individuals/groups of all ages , styles, and levels, sing optimally from their hearts. The necessary basic vocal techniques can be taught effectively in 4 to 8 lessons (depending on one's previous experience), though integrating the technique into your own style can take longer and usually continues throughout one's lifetime. With a BA in Theater Arts from San Francisco State University, an Ms degree in mental health and wellness /ministry from Grand Canyon University, and over 50 years directing, acting, and musical experience, including the last 15 years also working successfully as an ESL educator, I have gained the confidence to help most students achieve their educational and/or professional goals in enjoyable individualized ways.

    In the USA- (Seattle, Wa., S.F., Cal., Mn., and Arizona) I have been teaching voice, musical theater, acting, and ESL as well as sustitue teaching k-12 all subjects in Phoenix area public and private schools. Director of several choirs ( Whidbey Chorale, 4 churches), musicals, plays (including opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" 3X, "Grease" 2X, "Hair", "the Sound of Music"), I am currently directing the Apache Wells Community Church Choir. Currently singing alto in East Valley Chorale. In the Netherlands (2000 to 2015), I taught classes and private lessons in pop singing, vocal technique, musical theater, and flute in several local community music and theater schools. I also produced/directed "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" three times (1X in English, 2X in Dutch), coached all leads (including 2 private students cast as Belle) in Nordik High School (nationally acclaimed for musical theater in the Netherlands), productions- "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Newsies". Throughout Europe and the USA I have toured and performed since the 70's as a jazz/classical vocalist and flutist, as well as in dozens of choirs, chamber music groups, orchestras, and theatrical productions. All the above performing arts experiences have provided me with the tools to develop enlivening ways to help hundreds of students to achieve their personal and/or professional goals.
