- Teaches students:
- Ages 7+
- Teaching since:
I’ve been teaching saxophone lessons (classical and jazz) for the last 25 years to students of all ages and playing levels, Soprano, Alto and Tenor. I also have written 3 instructional books including “SAXOPHONE - Everything Sax Players Should Know!”. I’m also CEO of “Santee Saxophones”, my own line of professional saxophones and accessories.
Educational Background: I attended both Berklee College of Music (Boston) and University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with scholarships. At UWM I studied music education and music performance, and studied Music Performance at Berklee. While at Berklee, I studied with saxophonist George Garzone and was tenor saxophonist in their Steps, Stern and Scofield Ensemble and their Freshman All-Star Combo. I also attended a multi-class seminar by the great Emilio Lyons, saxophone repairman to greats such as Stan Getz and Michael Brecker.
I’ve performed with many different groups over the years, styles spanning classical, straight-ahead jazz, blues, contemporary/smooth jazz, fusion, Latin, funk, pop, EVEN POLKA (just one gig!)
I am involved in every aspect of the saxophone - knowledgeable in saxophone and mouthpiece design as well as reed modification. This experience will be very valuable in any equipment recommendations.
I look forward to helping you achieve all of your goals with your saxophone playing!

I have found Aaron to be an excellent teacher. He always knows exactly what I need to work on and assigns my lesson material accordingly. He makes playing fun but also keeps me focused and motivated to keep improving. I highly recommend him.
