    About Aaron C.

I am a guitarist, percussionist, and composer originally from Maine and now based in the Boston area. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the University of Southern Maine, where I also studied jazz guitar, and graduated with a Master of Music in Composition from the Longy School of Music, in Cambridge, MA, where I continued my jazz guitar studies. I've played guitar since I was very young, and perform various musical styles in different settings. Throughout middle and high school, I performed in numerous rock, blues, and jazz groups. In my undergraduate and graduate career, I played in the pit band for many musicals, as well as in contemporary classical ensembles. During and since finishing my graduate degree, I have performed in a wide range of settings, from jazz standards ensemble, to classical chamber groups, to new music and avant-garde settings, to pop cover bands. As a composer, I have likewise written in a wide range of settings, spanning from rock and blues, to jazz, to new music chamber ensembles and orchestras. I have been teaching private lessons to students of varying ages for three years now, from all different musical backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Prior to that, I tutored lower grade theory students during my undergraduate degree course. I primarily teach beginner-level students who are starting with a limited background on guitar, but have taught some who have no experience whatsoever, as well as others who have a fair amount of experience but are simply looking to get better. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to meeting you and discussing your musical future!
