I have been playing guitar for 18 years, bass for 13 years, and ukulele for 3 years. For 4 years I attended private lessons at a local music store. While attending college I took classes in music theory, music and culture, music appreciation, music business, American pop, music technology, piano, and drums. During this time I worked at the music center and transposed music for the orchestra.
I began teaching guitar 13 years ago and have been playing professionally for about 8 years. During an internship, I provided guitar lessons to Big Rapids Middle School (Big Rapids, MI) as a community service to enhance the choir students experience with music. A few years later I provided a beginning guitar class for a local Charter School as part of an after school program.
I continue to teach private lessons in person and at local music establishments.
*** Lesson Details ***
I am a versatile instructor that puts emphasis on each individual student learning how to discover music through their favorite songs/artists. It is my duty to act as a guide in the learning process since true development of an individual starts within the self. I believe that all students of music should experience and explore many forms of music so that they may better express their own inner musician.
My students should expect to experience music in their lives, explore the unique language that comprises music, and learn to express themselves through the many sounds that reverberate throughout their life.
