I am a singer/songwriter based out of Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2008 with a degree in Vocal Performance and Theatre, I began performing on Cruise Ships with some fellow IU Straight No Chaser alums. I then switched over to perform as a solo guitarist/vocalist onboard the ships for 4 years. My dad was the choir director at our church for 30 years, which is where I got my start, and eventually I took over the youth choir programs and directed 3 choirs grades K-12. While my focus in college was classical vocal training, I was raised on musical theatre, and now write pop music. I believe there is a proper way to sing, and it can be applied to any and all voice styles. I have conducted seminars through Hart and Henry Talent Agency to help singers cross from more traditional musical theatre styles to the more current pop/rock musicals that are taking broadway by storm. I love to work with the students to achieve the goals set forth, and enjoy this wonderful gift of music!
*** Lesson Details ***
I have a fairly laid back teaching style. Ultimately it's up to the student to practice the techniques, vocal exercises, or guitar drills presented. I will give you the tools you need to succeed, but you do not learn voice from one 45 minute lesson per week. Work at home throughout the week will be necessary.
The goal is to enjoy the music, and have fun singing it - whether that be in a performance, or at home with friends or by yourself in the shower. This can be achieved through hard work and dedication.

*** Specialties ***
As a singer/songwriter with a degree in classical voice, as well as theatre, I like to emphasize proper singing technique regardless of the genre. I specialize in Musical Theatre and legit singing, and how to properly incorporate it into todays crossover broadway styles.
