Do you love to sing? I offer private voice instruction. In a relaxed, fun environment.

I teach Somatic Voicework The LoVetri Method created by Jeanie Lovetri) is a body-based method of vocal training which draws from many disciplines. It is based upon voice science and medicine as well as traditional classical vocal training, complementary tools such as yoga, movement, dance, acting, and speech training, and various bodywork approaches. My Education and Licensing includes, BAA of MDS studies West Virginia University, Studies in Master of Classical Performance Wichita State, Artist Diploma Duquesne University, and Levels I II & 3 In Somatic Voice Work from Shenandoah Conservatory. As of February 2014 I have been certified as a National Association of Teaching Singers " Nats" Vocal Coach. In this way I will in the future offer opportunity in Performance and Masters classes through this organization to to promote confidence, fun in Music, and Personal Growth.

I also recently wrote an article with takelessons about one of my interesting approaches to teaching. Feel free to check it out and comment! :)

*** Lesson Details ***
My goals are to give you or your child one thing. The tools to accomplish the goals they stride for in a relaxed and safe atmosphere. So I tailor my teaching environment to the Students needs and desires, personality, and of course way of learning. At the end of the day, it really is all about you. :-)

*** Studio Equipment ***
Large studio in house, Upright Piano, Finale 2014. Technical Music Software for theory teaching, Hand bells, Video games pertaining to Music Theory, Interactive teaching toys, and many books. Waiting area in studio for parents with couches, and can also sit in on lessons. Free parking on street.

*** Specialties ***
My main goal is to make everyone feel like they are at home. So I have a studio that offers that. We have a 2 story House with a Waiting room and two kitty Cats! Very Unique, Fun but also productive.
If you are seeking the big baby grand piano and stern Voice teacher this may not be the place for you or your Child. I believe Music can be a very organic and wonderfully fun process and teach it that way. While instilling excellent work ethics and creating all types of Music and Strong Technique in Healthy Singing.

When I teach children I teach them Music theory using colors. The formula I use is called the "ROYBIV" Approach. While it is a new idea to society as I very recently had it copy righted, I have been using it for three years and it really works. "ROYGBIV" has has helped make music theory more applicable and fun.

Jen is very easy to get along with. Alongside making her teachings fun and easy to understand, she has taught me a lot in the years I've been going to her. I highly recommend her to anyone looking the expand their voice.

Having no acting experience by the end of the first session Jennifer had a framework to move forward. Very pleasant experience in comfortable surroundings.

Jennifer is a very easy teacher to deal with. Jennifer was a very responsive to my daughters needs for both scheduling and material and made things very easy on us.
Jennifer helps you feel very comfortable while learning and she's not even afraid to try new things or look at something from a different angle. I highly recommend Jennifer!

Jen has been working with my daughter for only 4 months but her growth in that amount of time has been amazing. She absolutely loves Miss Jen! Jen is an outstanding teacher and makes my daughter feel so comfortable and relaxed. Her favorite time of the week is when she can work with Jen. We are so honored and grateful that she is working with our daughter, we couldn't ask for a better teacher. The best around!

I started working with Jen a little over two months ago, and in those two months I have learned more about the music business than I have in my entire life. Ms. Jen works hard to make sure her students get the most out of every lesson. She is a genuine person with a huge heart and dedication to the music field. In every lesson, Ms. Jen warms us up well by working on breathing techniques. We are always laughing and having a ball, there is never a dull moment with Ms. Jen! I would recommend Jen to anyone interested in taking lessons. She is an inspiration to all of her students, and the best teacher I have ever had!

Jen is a great teacher who really cares about her students and whether they are learning. I came to her studio to learn how to sing for fun, and it was very helpful! She lets the student's goals guide the instruction, rather than sticking to a rigid curriculum. Jen also considers the student's needs and understanding carefully, making sure to explain things in a different way if needed.

I worked with Jen for just over a year and I have to say, not only did I learn a lot about music theory and breathing, but I gained such a great mentor and friend. I left Pittsburgh when I graduated and Jen is still there willing to answer questions about anything related to singing. In the year that I worked with her I: performed in three studio performances, auditioned and got the part of Mary Sunshine in my college's production of Chicago, and made it to the semi-finals of the Classical Singer's Competition. Without Jen, I wouldn't have been able to do any of that. I am more confident than ever and I'm still singing!

I am so impressed by Jen and her passion to truly help others. Her patience and ability to work through any challenges are inspiring. Jen is an incredibly talented individual with an amazing ability to help anyone learn and grow, regardless of their beginning skill level. You can see just how much she cares and goes above and beyond to make her lessons fun and meaningful. She is just wonderful and I would and do recommend her to anyone who will listen.

Jen is simply the best-better than all the rest!!!

My grandaughter Kayla has been taking singing lessons with Jen for almost a year now. Prior to Jen, Kayla had one lesson with another teacher but it was not a good match. Kayla needed someone who would critique her in a positive way and make her strive to do better in all aspects of what she learns. Jen has this capability of taking something negative the student is doing and make the student feel positive about it. I know sounds impossible, but I witnessed it myself. My grandaughter loves going to her lessons and she is learning so much more than just singing techniques. Jen has opened a whole new world to my grandaughter. She talks about now writing her own music, learning Italian, etc. She even tried out for a school play and got a part; something I know she would not have been comfortable doing if not for Jen. So, if you want an atmosphere of learning in kindness, an enthusiastic teacher that makes you feel special as you learn your craft, never makes you feel self conscious of yourself as you learn and most of all the ability to let the student know they truely are special she's the one. She's a teacher you'll remember with a warm smile everytime you open your mouth to sing.
