I've loved working with Sasha! Not only is she extremely knowledgable, but she's super flexible, catering her lessons to my specific voice goals. I have to strongly cosign what other reviewers have said about her ability to put you at ease - I came into our first lesson with a lifelong fear of singing in front of others, but I walked out her door that first day with so much confidence. What can I say - she creates a really chill, safe place to make a fool out of myself. Sasha's truly awesome and makes singing so accessible, and the difference I noticed in my singing after 1 lesson was remarkable. Plus she has the sweetest toddler on earth who much to my delight will join some of our lessons. I feel Sasha has given me some amazing training I can use for the rest of my life.

James L.

Douglasville, GA

I have been teaching for over 8 years, with 18 years experience as a musician. My students are welcome and encouraged to pick out songs they would like to learn. I have found that students who are excited and happy with learning songs they pick out tend to practice more and achieve their goals.

About James

James, a 3rd generation musician and teacher, graduated from Atlanta Institute of Music in 2008 with a focus on musical performance, theory and composition. He has experience teaching a variety of ages from 5 to 80 as well as students with special needs.

Local lessons are offered at Jackson's Music in Douglasville, GA - (Westmoreland Plaza); and at my home studio in Decatur, GA - (Bridlewood Cir); and in home lessons offered within a 10 mile radius of Decatur, Ga.

"Hey everyone, I am always willing to take on new students no matter what age and or experience. I usually average around 40
+ students a week so go and find a time that works for you!"

Students who take lessons in person will be able to take advantage of programs such as Riffstation (a slow-down audio file program to make learning easier, faster, and not to mention more fun.)

Students who enroll in online Skype classes can look forward to personal music material handed out through email. Students are also offered play-along pieces at the end of every lesson!

Priyal S.

Smyrna, GA

Teaching since 2008.
Teaching philosophy: I adapt my teaching style to the student's personality and needs. I like to create a friendly and warm teaching environment that helps the student grow and encourages them to question and become independent learners. Something as beautiful as music should not be a chore - I like to change up the lessons every now and then so the student remains engaged and enthusiastic.

About Priyal

Hello everyone, I started learning the piano at a very young age - then went on to graduate with a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from Furman University, SC and a Master's of Music from New York University, NY where I was also an Adjunct Faculty member of the music department, teaching private piano and group theory classes to undergraduate students. I have been teaching since the past 8 years and have taught piano and music theory in my hometown Mumbai (India), Greenville (SC), New York(NY) and now in Atlanta (GA). I've had the good fortune of teaching a varied group of students tha
t required different teaching methods.
My teaching philosophy is very simple - I work with the students and ensure they are not losing interest in the instrument, and more than progressing - I want them to enjoy what they are doing and learning - progress will then come naturally.
Teaching genres: Western Classical, Popular/Broadway, Basic jazz, Music Theory, Bollywood, Bollywood Dnace

Priyal was excellent!. She took the time to meet and greet with my son before starting the lesson. She started with a quick assessment my child's piano history and skill level before starting the first lesson. She made us feel very comfortable and at home as well. The lesson went great as she reviewed prior lesson material and combined it with new material and different outlooks on positioning and playing. Would definitely recommend!

Sarah P.

Marietta, GA

I have been playing piano for 11 years now and have been professionally employed for weddings, graduations, and church events. The first lesson is to get to know you, where you're starting from, and what your goals are. I'll let you play for me if you have prior experience, but total beginners will start with the basic motor skills. I'll include ear training, theory, and appreciation necessary to enhance your skills as a pianist.

About Sarah

Recent graduate from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. I have two years of experience teaching with excellent feedback from students. It should be fun to discover new patterns and ways of thinking! I always seek the most thorough and intuitive understanding of a subject possible and want the same for you. This creates the flexibility necessary to be able to teach you in whatever manner helps you best.
