My name is Tom C.. I began my musical career at age 8, when I started taking piano lessons. At the age of 10, I started playing the violin in the Lincoln Park Academy Orchestra. While in high school, I spent my summers at Sewanee Music Festival in Tennessee, and Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. I started playing in the Treasure Coast Symphony at age 13, the youngest member of the symphony at the time. I was selected to play in the Florida All-State Orchestra, the UCF Honors Orchestra, and the Four-County Honors Orchestra. My past education has allowed me to study with Sergiu Schwartz, Igor Markstein, Dr. John Enyart, and Matt Stott. In April 2004, I won the Treasure Coast Symphony’s Young Artist Scholarship Award. I further increased my experience in music by playing with the North
I've been involved in music since the 3rd grade and I've found a deep passion for it in my high school years; it's never been something else to do anymore. I am most proficient on the saxophone, however, I have studied and performed the Clarinet, Flute, Trombone, and Euphonium on many occasions. I've been involved with numerous ensembles throughout my twelve years of performing, including large concert bands, jazz ensembles, pit orchestras for musicals, and smaller chamber groups like saxophone quartets. My current music positions include: Music Engraver for Landrum Publishing Inc., Artistic Director for the Indian River State College Saxophone Quartet, principal Alto Saxophone for the Indian River State College Symphonic Band, principal Saxophone for the Indian River State College ...
I am a music major at FAU with 11 years of percussion-playing experience. I have studied just about every style out there in depth and I love it all. Without a doubt, this is what I do and want to do for a living! I like to think I have some unique ideas on teaching the drums, and I'm a good judge of where to go with students based on their needs and desires. I have been teaching for half a year now and things are taking off bit by bit, and my students certainly seem to like how I do things!
