She has helped me tremendously! We have a good time learning and laughing during my lessons with her. She had also helped me to stop listening to what others think about my voice and focus on believing in myself as I learn and progress. Risks l thanks

Desiree puts the fun in fundamentals!
I decided to take voice lessons for pleasure as a hobby to keep my mind off of the stresses of daily life. I had a lot of confidence issues to get over when I started taking lessons with Desiree; mainly because I didn't want to embarrass myself like those people I make fun of on American Idol. Her non-threatening teaching style has been the perfect fit for me...although she does raise her voice at me when I judge myself too harshly, but I won't count against her ;) My confidence has soared and I feel that I'm a much bolder and more comfortable singer. Iâm enjoying every minute of discovering my voice with Desiree. I've still got some work to do but I'm confident she'll help me reach my goals.

Voices are a Gift
Desiree has helped my sister and I develop our vocal skills and work to our full potential. She has also helped us realize that our voices are a gift and we need to treasure them. Desiree has strengthened our confidence in signing in front of people as well as signing in general. She is more than just a teacher she is a role model and a person we feel we can count on.

Jen has been working with my daughter for only 4 months but her growth in that amount of time has been amazing. She absolutely loves Miss Jen! Jen is an outstanding teacher and makes my daughter feel so comfortable and relaxed. Her favorite time of the week is when she can work with Jen. We are so honored and grateful that she is working with our daughter, we couldn't ask for a better teacher. The best around!
I started my music journey at New England Conservatory of Music taking voice lessons with Afrika Hayes. I then studied piano and music theory at Berklee College of Music. After that, I received my bachelors and masters in vocal performance at The Boston Conservatory of Music with Grace Hunter, and Iride Pilla. As part of my graduate program in voice, I studied voice therapy with David Blair McClosky and conducting with Attilio Polo.
My education to be a music teacher is from the best schools in the country. This education is combined with my love for helping my students achieve their
goals. Many of my students have gone on to Broadway, Opera, prestigious universities, or to become college professors themselves.
I have used this vast education to sing on National Public Radio, and record two CD's. One CD premiered in Ireland on several radio stations. I have experience teaching voice at Point Park University, Robert Morris University with a Concert Choir, and conducted "Into The Woods" at Duquesne University. I have taught all levels K-12 in Boston and Pittsburgh. I have seen beginners to professionals and have been able to help them all. This is truly my passion and has been life for the past 35 years.
I look forward to meeting new students and helping them achieve their goals!!
*** Lesson Details *** My approach varies amongst each individual. Some students are just interested in singing better, while others want to become professionals.
I always ask my students what their goals are on the first lesson. This allows me to customize a plan tailored for each individual. With my education in voice and voice therapy, my students can be assured that their voice will be preserved and they will be able to sing for their whole life. I teach my students how to properly use their voice, no matter what genre of music. I use a variety of methods in particular the Bel Canto method (Beautiful Singing).
After a few months my students typically see an improvement in breath support, projection, range, posture, and confidence. They will have learned a variety of repertoire which they can practice on their own between lessons.
*** Specialties *** Opera, musical theatre, sacred music, traditional music.

first time lesson
My granddaughter had her first lesson for voice and really excited. As teens are, she may not express getting overtly excited but when questioned it was apparent she really likes Kathyrn and looking forward to future lessons. she has been practicing her breathing exercises and seems really in sync with the whole process. Thank you Kathryn for being positive and giving her that push for feeling she can do this.
This is my element. Whether you have never sung an aria before, cant quite get that melisma, or just want to spend some time on that most worth of investments; legato, I'm here to offer my expertise

I worked with Mr. Pickering for three years when he was my high school choir director and it was a great experience for me. He inspired me to work my hardest and always push myself to be better than I was the day before. Now I am studying to be a music teacher myself; I hope to inspire my students to be their best just like he did.
Students are raving about their Opera Voice instructors on TakeLessons.

"This teacher makes me feel that I can accomplish anything!
Amber is the best voice teacher I have ever had. I needed help quickly to prepare an audition
piece for a University I was applying to out of state. I was under a real deadline and I had heard about Amber from one of her other students. We began to work on the piece and it was obvious I needed help with some of my techniques. Even though Amber was fitting me between other scheduled lessons, she found another time the next day and we worked on technique and over the next few days finished the audition piece. It was incredible and even the voice faculty commented on my song, and they were really impressed."

"Perfect teacher, perfect venue!
Desiree Soteres is the perfect vocal teacher for students of all ages. She is has an excellent performance, as well as ac

Desiree's studio is as fine as any you could possibly find in the most professional of settings and far exceeded my expectations. In addition to this, the location is VERY safe and has easy access to public transportation. Parking is also easily found on its quiet, tree-lined street.
Choose this teacher and her studio with complete confidence!"

I took lessons with Stacey during my senior year of high school. Studying voice with her improved not only my overall m
usicianship, but my confidence in what I specifically had to offer as a musician. Stacey helped prepare me for my college voice auditions. So, if you're looking for a teacher who is extremely talented, personable, and will push you to succeed, I highly recommend studying with Stacey."

Jordan is an amazing teacher. I have never worked with someone so patient. When we began working together it took me the
entire hour before I could understand each new idea of her technique. She would never grow angry or frustrated with me. Before I began taking lessons from Jordan I had terrible habits and my voice was never consistent. Some days I sounded decent and others I could barely phonate. Because of Jordan I can go into an audition or performance and successfully sing even thought I am shaking with nerves She has taught me a technique that always works whether it's that time of the month or I am especially tired. Jordan has opened up my voice to what it should be and has taught me how to tap into my resonance to create a larger, more natural sound that allows me to be heard over a piano and or small orchestra. I highly recommend Jordan as a teacher. It only takes one hour to hear improvement."

"Julia is amazing!!! During my two-week trip in Tucson, AZ, I needed a voice teacher to help me get ready for a performance at a recital three weeks later
in another state. I was so lucky and so blessed to have found Julia! Julia is an expert in classical and opera voice. She helped me with an Italian art song and a Chinese art song. She is always very encouraging, kind and patient. She knew my strengths and weaknesses right away, and taught me a variety of singing and breathing techniques to improve my voice. Julia is a treasure, and the best voice teacher I've ever met! I live in another state, but would like to go back to take lessons with her again in the future! Julia has years of experience in both performing and teaching. I highly recommend that students in the Tucson area have Julia for the voice lessons! Thank you Julia!"

"I've been studying classical voice for about 10 years. I have voice degrees from the Crane School of Music in Northern NY and Manhattan School of Music.
Over 10 years I've studied with numerous teachers, some good some not so good. Regina is the best teacher I've had thus far. She is a real technician and has an outstanding ear. I've been studying with her for 6 months and I've grown more and learned more about my voice in these few months than I have with any other teacher. It's due to the fact that every lesson she is "on" and ready to work. She is consistent and every lesson is an extension from the last lesson. Furthermore, Regina is someone who cares about you as a singer and as a person. She is willing to talk and give advice and creates a comfortable environment to put you at ease."
