I have been taking lessons on and off for about 10 years with Bill. No matter how good I have become, there is always something more that Bill can teach me. He makes lessons fun and always has me playing music that I enjoy. My band mates love what he's done for me as well. lol

As a semi professional musician and music teacher myself, I found Bill S.'s teaching to be both inspiring and educational. I've taught guitar for several years, but wanted to gain fluency on another instrument. Bill's vast experience in both playing and teaching was hugely helpful to both my drumming and my whole perspective on music. His encyclopedic knowledge of rhythm and drum technique would be overwhelming if he weren't also an extremely experienced teacher who knows exactly how to tailor each lesson to fit his students needs and style. Where other teachers often fall short by forcing their own style upon a student, Bill always had an upbeat attitude and was ready to help you get what you want out of your lesson.

I highly recommend Bill S. as a teacher. Taking lessons from him has been an invaluable experience for me that i don't think i could have gotten from anyone else.

You can't find a better teacher, and I'll tell you why

I have been taking lessons from Bill Shirk for going on a year now, and instead of telling you all about my experiences, I am going to simply express that Bill has everything I LOVE in a "teacher" of any-kind: First of all, he is always punctual: on time if not early. For me, time is always an issue, so I was willing to pay a little more for him to come to my studio, but he will come to you, OR you can save money & go to him. Either way, every penny you expend for his lessons is money WELL SPENT.

From what I understand, he will be producing a video series to supplement his lessons. So, if you take lessons from him, you may benefit in that area as well.

Bill has a ton of playing AND teaching Experience, Passion for drumming & music in general, amazing Patience & Communication skills, not to mention that he is a monster, versatile drummer in the classic sense of the term.

Bill has changed me into a real drummer, and that was our goal; to evaluate my abilities, and if I had the potential, to take me from being a life-long hobby-enthusiast and turn me into a viable gigging Student-Professional. I am currently playing in several situations and enjoying my development. I am also still taking lessons from Bill, and plan on continuing to do so.

In the process of taking lessons from him, we have become good friends, but understand that this is my objective evaluation of my experiences as his student. I don't know what else to say:

What MORE do you want in a teacher??

~ If you need anymore info, or further reference for this guy, contact me. Otherwise, let me just say that you will NOT be disappointed if you learn/take lessons from Bill Shirk.

Warmest Regards
TS Negron

Brandi is an exceptional teacher. She has only been working with my daughter for a couple of months and she has learned so much about the foundation of singing. My daughter enjoys her lessons and has begun to hear a big difference in her voice. I recently overheard her telling someone that her singing lessons has really improved her singing so Brandi is definitely a keeper!

I took about a year and a half of lessons with Brandi so my review is past due. Straight to the point, Brandi is very talented, knowledgeable, patient, and pleasant to be around.

As an adult student I was apprehensive about taking piano lessons. I wondered what the experience would be like interacting with my teacher and how well I would take the material being covered. Brandi smashed the first concern on the first lesson, and over a period of time developed my confidence in my ability to play so that I would go out and explore new things on my own and try things that I would have otherwise thought were too challenging.

The depth of Brandi's knowledge added to my appreciation of our lessons. Music Theory was not something I expected to learn but it being laced in with the lessons completed it. I learned not only about playing the piano, but why it's being played that way. I am analytical, so this enhanced my experience and rounded my education.

Beyond being a great musician and instructor, Brandi is simply a pleasant person to be around. She takes a genuinely interest in all of her students as well as their progression. I was impressed that she was able to make me feel at ease when I was frustrated and struggling. This is important to confidence building, and vital to the student's drive to persevere.

Finally, I feel confident saying that Brandi will exceed your expectations, and show you how you can exceed your own. I was in the video above, but notice that I was the only person who did not mention how very grateful I am. So, I shall rectify this in my conclusion. I was very fortunate to have Brandi as an instructor and appreciate all the work she has put in to giving me an understanding of piano and music.

Brandi is an excellent teacher. She is working with my grand daughter now vocally and she has improved quite a bit. She is highly skilled, intelligent and a very pleasant teacher to work with. She knows how to bring the best out of Kaylan and my grand daughter is doing things with her voice that she didn't even know she could do. I plan to stick with her through the whole process, of singing, vocals, piano and writing. She is EXCELLENT and well worth the investment!

Ginger T.

Lilburn, GA

About Ginger

I have been teaching music to young people since 1987. I began as an elementary music specialist and taught in public schools for thirteen years. After starting my family, I began to teach part time as a Preschool music and movement teacher and private piano instructor. I now have fourteen years experience in this field. In the fall of 2013 I added a group keyboard class to my schedule for young beginners. This experience has given me firm footing for approaching music students of all ages. Students respond positively to the excitement and beauty of making music. During every piano lesson I aim to help the student play musically and beautifully. We listen to different styles of music and use expressive technique to recreate that style. My piano studies began in the first-grade.

She makes piano fun!

My children love that they have lots of choices as to which songs they play. They are gently challenged and always encouraged. The recitals are thoughtfully put together and are enjoyed by all!

Patient and encouraging

My son has been taking piano lessons with Ginger for a year and a half starting at age 8. Playing an instrument was quite different from anything my son had tried before. He can get frustrated when things don't come easily. But Ginger is patient and makes sure to pace his lessons accordingly, sometimes giving him another week on a piece to gain more confidence. Ginger was also my son's preschool music teacher, so I've seen her in action with a group of very young children and know that anyone that can put together a preschool music program is a primo teacher!
